Elizabeth Richards Missions Offering

Give to Elizabeth Richards State Mission Offering

Missions is the heartbeat of Tennessee Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (TCBF). We take seriously Jesus’ words recorded in Matthew 25:31-46 about the necessity of caring for the poor and oppressed. The call to be the presence of Christ in the world means we are intentional about serving “the least of these.” That’s why TCBF annually promotes a state missions offering. Since the offering began over ten years ago, congregations and individuals across Tennessee gave over a quarter-million dollars to designated mission and ministry projects across the state and beyond. We celebrate this significant accomplishment and the ways God used these generous donations to meet human need in Jesus’ name.

The Elizabeth Richards Missions Offering is named in honor of Elizabeth Richards, retired CBF field personnel from Tennessee. Elizabeth served as a missionary in the Middle East for 16 years. For nine of those years, she served in a traditional healthcare setting – working in a chest disease hospital serving the Bedouin. Then she worked in a micro-enterprise setting in the Middle East that employed and served the unreached and those marginalized by society, mostly employees disabled or disadvantaged in some way.  We desire to emulate Elizabeth’s compassion and sacrificial spirit through the ministries funded by this offering.

Our goal this year is $27,000. When you invest in the Elizabeth Richards Missions Offering during 2017-18, you invest in the following ministries:

Samaritan Ministry, Knoxville — $5,000
Neverfail Community Church, Sparta — $5,000
Mission Grants — $11,000
Regional Ministries — $6,000

Your church decides when to focus on TCBF state missions (any time between now and June 30). Whenever you promote the Elizabeth Richards Missions Offering, we stand ready to assist you with promotional materials, bulletin inserts, and speakers.
