Preventing Sexual Abuse at Church
Saturday, September 28, 2019
9 AM - 12 PM
CBF Tennessee will offer a training session on “Preventing Sexual Abuse at Church” on September 28, 2019 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in Knoxville for all levels of local church leadership, staff and laity.
This session will cover procedures for sexual abuse prevention and response, and include suggested policies and practices that churches should consider. Discussion will be held on guidelines that churches currently have implemented, as well as information and statistics on the sexual abuse and misconduct that is occurring within churches of all denominations.
“Safe Church Resources,” developed by the CBF Sexual Abuse Task Force and Baptist Women in Ministry, will be reviewed and copies will be provided for those in attendance. We encourage you to send a group from your church to raise congregational awareness of this issue and learn about ways to prevent sexual abuse of children, youth and leaders within your congregation. Registration is encouraged but not required. Feel free to share this opportunity with or invite leadership from neighboring churches.
