Betty Galloway Award
The Betty Galloway Advocacy for Women in Ministry Award was established in May 2000 by Tennessee Baptists Encouraging Women in Ministry. The purpose of this award is to recognize a person, church, or organization that excels in promoting and advocating for women in places of ministry. Presented for the first time in July 2000, First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge received the award.
In January 2003, Tennessee Cooperative Baptist Fellowship assumed the privilege of naming the recipient of the Betty Galloway Award because of its commitment to encouraging women in ministry. The Leadership Development Team recommends a nominee to the Coordinating Council. The Betty Galloway Advocacy for Women in Ministry Award is presented at the annual TCBF General Assembly. The recipient receives a plaque and the individual, church or organization name is added to the list of award recipients.
To nominate an individual, church or organization for the Betty Galloway Advocacy for Women in Ministry Award, write a letter explaining why you believe the nominee should be considered for the award then send it to the TCBF office by January 31.
